Background
Efficient quality work demands a clear mindset, sustainability and knowledge. Achieving a greater common understanding about quality terms and good knowledge about business excellence supports this.
In 1986 the National Committee for Swedish Quality was founded and being chaired by HM Prince Bertil. In 1990 the supporting members organisation was founded which formed a contract with the Swedish government to create SIQ, The Swedish Institute for Quality.
SIQ took over the assignment from the National Committee to actively contribute to quality development in all sectors of the Swedish society.
A National centre for business excellence in Sweden
As a national centre SIQ has been able to build good relations within Sweden as well as abroad. Sharing knowledge and networking has increased our ways of contributing to development in Sweden.
